On Monday April 10, 2006 Marian Silvernail, 88, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica after a short but very disabling illness. Marian was the fourth of five children born to Karl & Sophie (Singer) Nagele at the family home in St. Johnsville on May 19, 1917. Marian was educated in local schools in the St. Johnsville area and also educated about life in the farm. She would mention how she would go under the trains as they filled up with water so she could help retrieve the dairy cows and bring the across the tracks. In October of 1941 she married Harold Silvernail of Dolgeville, NY. After he served his country during World War II they moved back to Dolgeville in 1945 with their son Norman born in April of 1943. Mr. Silvernail passed away in May of 1990. For over 30 years, Marian worked at the former Daniel Green Shoe Company in Dolgeville. Mrs. Silvernail was a member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church and the Oppenheim Senior Citizens. Survivors include her son Norman and their pet beagle Zorro with whom she resided with in Dolgeville; she also leaves a sister Hazel Komar and husband John of St. Johnsville, a sister-in-law, Gladys Nagele of St. Johnsville, 5 nieces, 1 nephew and several cousins. She was pre-deceased by 2 brothers, Floyd and Raymond Nagele and a sister, Aileen Flanders. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 14, 2006 at 10:00 am from the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY with Reverend Jeffrey Losey, pastor of the Dolgeville Untied Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday April 13, 2006 from 6-8 pm.
