LITTLE FALLS - Marian B. Palmer (Glowatcky), 90, formerly of
Marian was pre-deceased by her husband, G. Ruport (Rupe) Palmer on June 15, 1988. She is survived by her four children: James R. Palmer of Little Falls, Cynthia A. Palmer of
Marian was born on August 9, 1927 in Little Falls, NY to George and Nellie (Myers) Glowatcky, residing with her parents in Manheim on
Marian was a kind individual who loved dogs, gardening, nature, canning, cooking, knitting, sewing, and helping others. She was an active member of the former Christ Lutheran and Methodist churches in Little Falls, a member of the local Astenrogen DAR chapter, and the former Little Falls Hospital Guild. She also volunteered to organize local Red Cross blood drives, served as a Brownie, Girl Scout, and Cub Scout leader and taught Sunday School.
Ruport and Marian always enjoyed a Friday night fish-fry at Kane’s Tavern, the Elks Club, a good meal at Henry’s (Canal Side), and enjoyed the time they were able to spend together on the Palmer Homestead on
Marian will be buried alongside her husband Ruport in the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Gloversville, NY on Tuesday May 1, 2018 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Naomi Sorrwar-Randall officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, for those who want to remember Marian in a special way, please consider donations to the Siegenthaler Hospice Center, New Hartford, NY or NAPSA (National Adult Protective Services Association), napsa-now.org.
