Mari Elaina Scialdo

HERKIMER - Mari Elaina Scialdo, a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away, on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Basset Medical Center, in Cooperstown, with family by her side. Mari bravely fought multiple autoimmune diseases for years.

Mari was the youngest of 5 siblings, born on May 1, 1965 and was raised in Frankfort, NY. She is survived by her daughter, Victoria Scialdo; sister, Lisa and husband, Chuck Eaker; 2 brothes, Fred and wife, Mary Sue Hight and Wayne and wife, Ellen Hight; her furbaby Gracie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She last worked as a secretary at Herkimer High School and was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Mary Jane (DiPiazza) Hight, and her sister and brother-in-law Linda and Ted Trombley.

Mari was strong-willed and stubborn, but also a beautiful old soul who loved life. She was so selfless and cared deeply for the people around her. She loved spending time with her family and friends, arts, crafts, visiting animals at the animal shelter, making everyone laugh, and just living her life to the fullest.

Mari will be missed and remembered by all the lives she touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 12:00 NOON, from the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Ilion and burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the funeral home, on Wednesday morning, prior to the Funeral Service, from 10:00 a.m. until NOON and attend the Funeral and Burial Service to follow.

Mari’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors.
