MOHAWK - Marguerite H. Jackson, age 89, of 10 Henry St., Mohawk, entered into Heaven to join her husband and son on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Faxton-St. Luke?s Healthcare, New Hartford. She was born on June 6, 1919, in Cooperstown, the daughter of John and Agnes (Wheeler) Hibbard and graduated from Knox School for Girls. On April 23, 1939, Marguerite was married to Lloyd A. Jackson in Sturgis, Ky. He died on April 3, 1996. She was employed in the Support Investigative Department at Oneida County Social Services, Utica, for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church and its Episcopal Church Women (ECW). Marguerite enjoyed homemaking, her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader, often lending her books to others. Mrs. Jackson also enjoyed her time spent with animals. Survivors include her daughters, Marlene Kinville of North Carolina, Kathy Drumm and her husband, Brother Richard, of Mohawk; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Charlotte Jackson of Tennesee and Kirk and Lynn Jackson of Camillus, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Francis Jackson; two brothers, Duane and Judson Hibbard; three sisters, Julia Crouse, Nettie Webster and Lois Postiglion. Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at the Grace Episcopal Church, 9 East Main St., Mohawk, with Father William Wheeler, vicar, officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Episcopal Church or the American Lung Association. All funeral arrangements are entrusted to Funeral Director Don Applegate of Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, Ilion.
