HERKIMER - Mrs. Margaret Mary (Wezalis) Riesel passed away embraced with tender love from her abundant family on Saturday morning June 27, 2015 in the warmth and serene setting of her beautiful home. Mrs. Riesel was 68. She last worked with ACS of Utica, NY, holding a data entry position. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Senior Citizens. She is survived by her children, Cheryl Murphy (Joseph) of Rochester, Jackie Gizowski (Mark) of Rochester, William Gizowski (Diane) of Smyrna, NY, Michelle Riesel (Jason) of Ilion, Sandi Dineen (Chris) of Buffalo, and Joseph Matteson of Herkimer, grandchildren, Ben & Sam, Cory, Carley, Caitlynn, and Kassandra, two great - grandchildren, Alexander and Riley, and her brothers, Bill Wezalis of Herkimer, Richard Wezalis (Diane) of Landenberg, PA, and Robert Wezalis (Cathy) of Milford, NH, as well as three aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Richard Riesel. Margaret Mary was born in Herkimer, NY, the daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie (Vedovati) Wezalis. She attended Herkimer High School. A celebration of the life of Margaret Mary Riesel will take place at the family home at 1786 Steuben Hill Road in Herkimer on Thursday July 2, 2015 from 2 until 6 PM. There will be NO funeral home calling hours or formal funeral service. The family greatly appreciates the support Hospice, and MOVAC, as well as the 6th floor of Faxton - St. Luke's Healthcare, with special mention to Cindy.
