ILION-Mrs. Margaret L. "Peg" Cioch, age 84 of 202 E. Main Street, Ilion passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, August 7, 2011 in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford.
She was born on July 29, 1927 in Staten Island, NY daughter of the late Lester and Mary Schmidt and educated in Staten Island schools. She has resided most of her life in the Mohawk Valley. Her husband, Leonard J. Cioch preceded her in death on June 30, 1985. Peg's last professional employment was with UNIVAC where she worked in the purchasing department.
Mrs. Cioch enjoyed the time she spent playing cards with her friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her son, Gary Cioch of Frankfort; her grandchildren: John Patrick "Jake" of Boston and Chad and Clairissa of Frankfort.
The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 10 am from the original Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer (866-1011) with Carolyn Fletcher, Funeral Celebrant officiating. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service. Procession will follow to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Leonard.
Kindly consider memorial contributions in Mrs. Cioch's memory to the American Red Cross of the Mohawk Valley; envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home. Peg's son Gary has entrusted arrangements into the care of Funeral Director Daniel J. Enea.
