ILION - Margaret J. Avery, age 74, of New Hartford, formerly of Ilion and Utica, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2010, at Gan Kovod Intermediate Care Facility, New Hartford, NY.
She was born on December 26, 1935, the daughter of Raymond and Mary (Jarboe) Avery, and attended Sauquoit and Massena schools.
Survivors include her sister, Alice Struthers, of Townsend, MA, and three nieces and three nephews, Christopher, Alisa, Alfred, Matthew, Melinda and Amelia Struthers. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law, Robert C. Struthers.
Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Litchfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Oneida County, 1404 Genesee St., Utica, NY 13501.
All arrangements were prearranged and are entrusted to Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home of Ilion, Don Applegate, Funeral Director.
