Maisie Costello

SCHUYLER - Maisie (Higley) E. Costello, 81, of Millers Grove Park, Schuyler, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. She was born on June 20, 1923, in Utica, the daughter of Ross and Anna Mae (Chase) Carlin, and attended Clinton Central School. At one time, she was married to George Higley, who died in 1953. She later married John Costello, who died in 1977. Maisie worked at General Electric Co., Utica, in the radio receiver department for many years. Most recently she was a private home health aid. Survivors include her sons, Arthur Higley and his wife Wendy of Rome, and Charles "Chuck" Costello of Schuyler; her daughters, Ann Rembold and her husband Gary of Cranberry, Pa., and Elizabeth Higley of North Adams, Mass.; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands George Higley and John Costello, one brother and three sisters. Friends and relatives are invited to attend funeral services at 1:15 p.m. Monday, May 16, at the Applegate & Day Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with the Rev. Jack Cogar officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Memorial Park, town of Kirkland. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
