Mrs. Luella Mae Lyon 77, a resident of the Folts Home in Herkimer, since October 2002, died there on Thursday August 30, 2007. She was born in the Town of Salisbury on September 13, 1929 the daughter of Floyd and Jenny (Rivenburg) Miller and was educated in Stratford school. Her marriage to Garfield Lyon took place on December 6, 1946. Mr. Lyon predeceased her on July 29, 1988. Luella was employed several years ago by the Daniel Green Company of Dolgeville. She is a member of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church, and she personally enjoyed going to Bingo, along with playing crossword puzzles. However, her greatest joy was in her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons and their wives Kenneth and Cindy Lyon of South Carolina, Richard and Lynne Lyon of Dolgeville, Albert and Brenda Lyon of North Carolina, Ronald and Pamela Lyon of Oppenheim, her daughters and their husbands Betty Vaughn of Illinois, Virginia and Larry Miles of Dolgeville, Margie and George Gay of Dolgeville, Ruth Ann and Harold Thurston of Ilion , Marion and Kevin Johnson of Little Falls and Mary Lou and Frank Chapman of St. Johnsville, her sisters Genevieve Kladder of Michigan, Alice terry of Hamilton, Clara Beach of Ilion, Carol Rodriguez of Michigan, her brothers Duane Miller of Florida, Kendall Miller of Salisbury Center, and David Miller of California, 33 grandchildren 16 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Larry Lyon on September 13, 1983 and a sister, Barbara Kuprian in 1999. Graveside memorial services will be held Saturday, September 8th , 2007 at 11 AM in the Dibble-Tuttle Cemetery on Emmonsburg Road, Salisbury Center. Rev. Rebecca Laird, Pastor of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church will officiate. There are No Calling Hours. Memorials in Luella?s name may be made to the Dolgeville United Methodist Church or to the Folts Home in Herkimer.
