ST. JOHNSVILLE - Mrs. Louise M. Starna, 94, formerly of St.Johnsville, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at the Focus Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cooperstown.
Mrs. Starna was born on January 12, 1920, in Smiths Falls,
Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Antonio and Giovanna (Zuccaro)
Marocco. She attended schools in Cornwall, Ontario, and St.
Johnsville. On August 25, 1940, she was united in marriage to
William L. Starna in St. Patrick's Church, St. Johnsville. Mr.
Starna died on October 28, 1985. For many years Mrs. Starna
was employed as a nurse in the Emergency Department
of Little Falls Hospital. She leaves a daughter, Norinne J.
Starna, three sons, William A. Starna, David P. Starna, and
Richard T. Starna, and a grandson, David E. Starna. Also
surviving are nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was
predeceased by sisters Paragina Papa, Irene Vespi, and Ida
Pagano, and brothers Roger and John Marocco.
In keeping with Mrs. Starna's wishes there are no calling hours.
Funeral services are private with burial in the St. Johnsville
Cemetery, officiated by Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo. Her
arrangements are with Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral
Directors with the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center
