HERKIMER - Mr. Louis J. Galeotti, age 82, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday February 15, 2015 in Herkimer, NY.
He was born on November 20, 1932 in Herkimer, N.Y., a son of the late Angelo and Edith (Valente) Galeotti. He was a Graduate of Herkimer High School and been a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley. Lou went on to serve our country with the United States Navy. He was married to the former Patricia Favat who passed away December 17, 1986. For many years Lou had graced the lots of various car dealerships throughout the Herkimer and Utica area, having last worked with Skinners Ford auto sales in Herkimer. He attended the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph. Lou was an avid sports fan, namely interested in football, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son Marc J. Galeotti of Ilion, his daughter Louann Lonis of Oriskany Falls, NY and her former husband Dave Lonis, a brother Angelo Galeotti of South Carolina, three grandchildren, Ryan Lonis, Allie Marie Galeotti, and Marcus Angelo Galeotti, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His funeral arrangements are with The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY. Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Directors (315) 866-1011. There will be a family visitation at the funeral home on Thursday evening, February 19th from 7 until 8 PM. It will conclude with a brief prayer (8:00 PM). Spring interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Herkimer at the convenience of the family.
