LITTLE FALLS: Louis T. Call, Jr., EdD, age 84, a long time Little Falls resident, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Little Falls Hospital with the love and support of his wife at his side.



Born in Haddonfield, NJ on March 30, 1928, Lou was the son of the late Louis and Eleanor (Best) Call, Sr. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont, a master's degree from Rowan College in New Jersey and a doctorate degree in education from the University of Georgia. Louis entered the United States Army on April 2, 1946 and was honorably discharged as a captain on February 5, 1962. On February 17, 1968, Lou was united in marriage to Nancy Sanders in Plainfield NJ, the couple sharing 44 years of mutual respect and love for each other. Dr. Call retired from Herkimer County Community College as a Professor of English and Children's Literature. At one time, he also worked at Utica College. Dr. Call had a passion for reading children's literature and was an avid and well known stamp collector. He was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls.



He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Little Falls, a sister, Margot Giesler and husband Andrew of Winter Haven, FL and a special niece, Sarah Paulukow and husband John.



He was predeceased by a daughter, Paulette Call.



Those wishing to express an act of kindness may make a donation to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls; envelopes will be available at the church the morning of the service.



Lou's funeral service will commence on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 10: 00 a.m. at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Albany Street, Little Falls with The Rev. Dr. Steven Scarcia, Rector officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. There will be no public calling hours.
