Louis John Archambeau, 76, of 700 Thompson Road, Little Falls passed away on Saturday February 24, 2007 at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. He was born October 6, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of the late Israel & Anna (Anklam) Archambeau, and was a graduate of Warren High School, Warren, RI. Mr. Archambeau was a Marine Core veteran during the Korean Conflict from 1947 until his honorable discharge in October 1951, with the rank of Corporal. While serving his country Louis received the purple heart and the Medal of Honor. On February 4, 1950 Louis was united in marriage to Dorothy Dark in Providence, Rhode Island. He was a dairy farmer in Salisbury for many years. Mr. Archambeau was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Dolgeville. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy, his children, Kathy Nelson of Redwood City, Ca., Linda Masters of Rehoboth, Mass., & Steven Archambeau of Salisbury, NY, 3 brothers & 2 sisters in Saginaw, Michigan, a brother-in-law, Alfred Dark, Jr., of Cumberland, RI. And many nieces & nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday February 26, 2007 at 1:00 pm at the Grace Baptist Church, with Reverend Leonard Byerly, officiating. Spring burial with full military honors will be held at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills, NY. Arrangements are by the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, NY.
