Utica: Loretta Nehr, 98, of the Masonic Care Community and formerly of Ilion, passed away peacefully, September 4, 2012, at her residence.
She was born June 4, 1914, in Tupper Lake, the daughter of the late Henry and Delia Passino Trombley. Loretta was a graduate of Herkimer High School. In 1945, she married Carl Nehr in Herkimer. Mr. and Mrs. Nehr were lifelong residents of Ilion. Mr. Nehr passed away in 1976.
Loretta was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the Herkimer Historical Society and the former Hospital Guild.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Nehr and her husband, Dan Reuben of Ilion; her sons, Lance Nehr and his wife, Marianne of Ramsey, NJ and Geoffrey Nehr of Caroga Lake, NY; her three grandchildren and two nephews. Loretta was predeceased by her sister, Annabelle Russell.
Loretta's funeral will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours.
