PALATINE BRIDGE - Livia L. Terricola, age 92, loving mother of two, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, New York.

Livia was born in 1932, in Scituate, Massachusetts, and grew up surrounded by her large family. She had two siblings and many cousins, aunts and uncles with whom she lived near before her family moved to St. Johnsville, New York.

She was influenced by her mother and father to be a loving and caring woman, who always gave her time to others and was a wonderful mother to her two children. As a mother, she was loving, kind, compassionate and supportive. She was last employed with Beech – Nut, Canajoharie.

Livia excelled at and loved to cook and bake and did so until she passed. She was legendary for her rice balls and eggplant parmigiana and chocolate chip cookies. Livia graduated from St. Johnsville High School and this is where she met her husband, Roland Terricola. After she married Roland, they traveled the country while he was in the Marine Corps. Livia loved moving around the states, meeting new people and making lasting friendships. Livia was also a grandmother and she absolutely loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Livia was predeceased by her parents, Lena and Henry Iacobucci; the father of her daughters, Roland Terricola; and her brother-in-law, Salvatore DiChristina. She leaves behind her two daughters, JoAnne Hernigle and her husband, William, of Palatine Bridge, and Paula Kulick and her husband, Charlie, of New Bern, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Stefanie Ackerknect (Eric), of Canajoharie, Ryan (Jessica) Hernigle, of Gloversville, Matthew Hernigle, of Palatine Bridge, Lacey Orris (Chris), of New Bern, NC, Joseph Rigo (Brianna), of Ilion; and the apples of her eye, her great- grandchildren who made her feel young again: Tanner and Grayson Ackerknecht, of Canajoharie, Gianna Auld, of New Bern, NC and Zander, Isaiah and Zoe Rigo, of Ilion. Livia is also survived by her devoted sister and brother, Mary DiChristina and Primo Iacobucci (Wanda); and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, St. Johnsville, New York. The family will be present to receive family and friends at calling hours between the times of 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, that day. A Catholic Funeral Service will then be held following the viewing at the funeral home chapel with Father Rafal Dadello, officiating. The Burial Service will take place immediately after, at the St. Johnsville Cemetery.

The family would like to invite those attending to join them at a Celebration of Life for Livia at Lombardo’s Restaurant, 7845 State Hwy 5, St. Johnsville, New York, at the conclusion of the Cemetery Service.

The family would also like to offer sincere thanks to the many relatives and friends for their kind acts of sympathy during this difficult and unexpected time.
