ST. JOHNSVILLE - Lisa Mary Knapp Monohan, aged 55, of Saint Johnsville, a beloved mother, daughter of the Earth, passed away May 16th, 2025, with her loved ones by her side as they helped guide her soul onto her next journey.
Lisa was born November 19th, 1969, under the watchful gaze of the waxing gibbous moon—a symbol of growth, intuition, and divine connection. She was the beloved daughter of Robert and Arlene (Lyons) Knapp. Lisa attended Stratford schools and graduated in 1987. Her and David Monohan welcomed two beautiful daughters, Kara and Michaela who were the sun and stars of her world.
Lisa's path was marked by creativity, spirit, and service. Beginning as a nurse’s aide, she later dedicated many years as a project planning scheduler at the Carpen House in Mohawk. Drawn to the mysteries that lie just beyond the veil, Lisa co-founded Paranormal Investigators Society, a local ghost-hunting group. As a Reiki Master, she opened The Rose Star Metaphysical Boutique in Little Falls where she offered healing sessions, tarot reading and dream interpretations. She was also a Death Doula who offered spiritual guidance and support. For nine devoted years, she shared her love of knowledge and community at the Little Falls Library, always offering a welcoming conversation and open mind and where she facilitated Dream Exchanges and Death Cafés.
Lisa cherished time with her loved ones and close friends and always made time for you. She loved to reminisce over shared memories that were sure to have engulfed you in her unforgettable and contagious laughter. She shared a deep bond with her Coven of friends who meant the world to her, and who walked through life with her in love and trust.
She especially loved visiting Wells and Ogunquit, Maine, exploring the history and charm of Salem, Massachusetts, and spending peaceful days at camp in Pine Lake. These places brought her happiness, relaxation and peace. She reveled in mining for crystals and was always up for a night of dancing with "her girls."
Though she has returned to the stars, she leaves behind in this realm her two beautiful daughters; Kara and Anthony Roy of Herkimer, NY; Michaela Monohan and her partner Andrew Sammons of St. Johnsville, NY; her mother Arlene Knapp, her brother Bobby and sister in-law Jennifer Knapp, her nephew Tanner; all of Stratford, NY. She was also "grandma" to her beloved fur-babies and leaves behind many friends and family. She was predeceased by her father Robert Knapp.
Under the waning gibbous moon, she returned to the Earth, a time of reflection, gratitude and release. In the cycle of all things, her journey continues — not ended, only transformed. Remember, wherever you are, know that her spirit is with you. So, light a candle, shuffle your favorite deck, and write down your dreams or she might give you a side-eye.
