ILION – Linda Ann (Brown) Valdez, 70, passed away August 11, 2021. She was born to Frederick R. Brown, Sr. and Dolores (Hoover) Brown, from Baltimore, Maryland.

She was the wife of Michael Valdez; mother of Melissa Ann Armstrong; a grandmother to Madison (Bouck) Rivenburg and Micah Battalio; and a great- grandmother to Violet Rivenburg and Aiden Battalio. Linda had other younger siblings, brother, Frederick Brown, Jr., brother, Randall Brown (Deceased) and brother, Mark Brown; sister-in-Law, Julie (Ano) Brown; and nieces and nephews, Miranda Brown, Alyssa Brown, David Brown, and Frederick R. Brown, III.

Linda married Michael Valdez in 1975, an active - duty Navy man while assigned onboard a ship at Fort McHenry in Baltimore. Linda was self-reliant, enduring separations from her husband during deployments and reassignments. Her resourcefulness, strength, independent and positivity was evident in her life through the trials of Navy life. She was employed at the stations Chief Petty Officers Club and the Golf Country Club, during their four - year assignment at Naval Air Station, Fallon, NV. She was active in the Navy Wives Program a support group at Naval Air Station, Brunswick, ME.

In 1984, Linda became a baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church during their assignment at Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland. She had a strong faith in God and applied what she learned to her life when she interacted with others. While living in Annapolis Maryland in 1995, Linda loved her family and decided to move to upstate New York in 2004 to be there for her daughter and grandchildren. To provide morale support in any way she could. Linda built supportive relationships with all who she came in contact with. A strong person in every way applied with kindness and compassion for others.

In lieu of a funeral, or viewing, there will be family members in attendance arriving from other states for bereavement, reunion, and celebration.
