Lewis Humphreville

HERKIMER-ILION - Lewis W. Humphreville, age 59, of John Street, Little Falls, formerly of Herkimer, Ilion and Florida, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2008, at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown. He was born on Dec. 15, 1948, in Utica, the son of Charles and Myrtle (Darling) Humphreville and attended Holland Patent, Remsen and Ilion schools. At one time, Lewis owned and operated his own trucking Co. in Bushnell, Fla. He was an associate member of AmVets Post 777. Survivors include his 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck and Eileen Humphreville of Ilion, Clayton and Barbara Humphreville of Herkimer; his step-daughter, Tracy Gilbert and his step-son, Tom Lynch of Florida; his half-sister, Helen Besig of Mohawk; seven grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, John Humphreville, his parents and his half-brother, Stanley Ham. Friends and relatives are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, with Pastor Jack Cogar officiating. Interment will be in West Schuyler Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9-10 a.m. prior to the services.
