ILION- Mr. Leonard Kempney, 81, of E. North St., passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Mohawk Valley Health Care Center.
He was born on April 20, 1930, in Carthage, NY, son of the late Leonard and Rose (Martin) Kempney.
Leonard was a man of few words but he was well loved by everyone who knew him. He lived with Pat and John Allen and their family for 15 years and was considered a member of their family. They went to the Salvation Army Church together every Sunday. Leonard went to Folts Home Day Care and was also well like there .
Leonard is survived by his sister Rose Reff of Clayton, NY. He was predeceased by his brothers: Nelson, Gerald, Bernard Dean and Bernard Lee.
Calling hours will be held from 2-3pm on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at The Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion. Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at Glenwood Cemetery in Watertown.
