Leona Gorski

HERKIMER-Mrs. Leona M. Gorski, 94 of East Steele Street, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009 in St. Elizabeth?s Medical Center, Utica with her family by her side. She was born on September 21, 1914 in North Carolina, daughter of the late Hyram H. and Florence C. (Benton) Hewette and received her education in North Carolina schools. She was united in marriage to Raymond Gorski in February of 1947 in Little Falls. Mr. Gorski passed away in August of 1990. Mrs. Gorski?s primary focus in life was taking care of her home and family. Survivors include her children: Josephine Herringshaw and husband Donald of Herkimer, Betty Lasowski and husband Joe of Little Falls, and Ronald Gorski and wife Lora of Herkimer; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including: Irene Szatko and husband Ron of Ilion and Lena Sudakow of Herkimer. Leona was preceded in death by two grandchildren: Suzanne Gorski and Joey Lasowski. The family will gather privately to say goodbye.
