Lee E. Tibbitts, Sr., age 80, of Ilion, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Albany Medical Center.
Lee was born on December 9, 1941. He was married to Ruth Barbara Tibbitts who predeceased him in 2001.
Lee was an outdoorsman who enjoyed earning his living while being in the presence of nature. In his early years he was a fisherman on Long Island. He also worked as a herdsman and horse farmer before ultimately relocating to the Mohawk Valley and working for Len Lo Farms in Mohawk.
He is survived by his children, Lee Tibbitts, Jr., and Heath Tibbitts, both of Herkimer, Erin Tibbitts of Ilion and Barbara Ruthann Tibbitts of Long Island; his brother, Mike and sister, Margaret, both of Florida; along with several grandchildren, one great-grandchild and other loving family members.
Lee’s family has entrusted his final wishes to the Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors. There will be no public services. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com .
