St. Johnsville, New York

ST. JOHNSVILLE - Mr. Lawrence C. “Larry” Cook, age 66, of St. Johnsville, New York, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2025, at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown.

Larry's life journey began on February 11th, 1959, in Little Falls, NY, where he was born to loving parents, William P. and Alicia (Cramer) Cook. Though deeply connected to his roots, Larry's spirit truly blossomed in the community he cherished and called home.

A proud graduate of St. Johnsville High School, Larry pursued further education and earned an associate degree in marketing from Herkimer County Community College. His work as a machinist at Helmont Mills reflected his unwavering commitment to hard work and reliability, principles that defined him both professionally and personally.

Larry's heart was a treasure trove of kindness, always ready to lend a hand. He was known for his loving demeanor and his ability to spread joy through simple acts of generosity.

As an exceptional father, he poured his love into his son, Joshua (fiancé Samantha), and took immense pride in the joy his two grandchildren, Lucas and Ayra, brought to his life.

His mother, Alicia, continues to carry the fondest memories of her son, along with one aunt and many cousins and friends locally who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Larry's presence in the Village was a warm and familiar sight; he was an integral part of the local community, always enhancing it with his genuine spirit and thoughtfulness.

Larry's passing leaves a poignant void in the lives of those who knew him. He was predeceased by his father, William, and two brothers, Paul and Joseph, who remain forever in the loving embrace of family memories. We wish to thank everyone who have helped us from the bottom of our hearts.

As the community gathers to remember Larry, funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 18th, 2025, at 12:00 NOON at Mount Hope Cemetery on Fordsbush Road in Fordsbush. A graveside service will honor his memory, followed by a gathering of fellowship at the St. Johnsville American Legion.

While we mourn the loss of a cherished soul, we also celebrate the legacy of kindness, love, and unwavering support that Larry left behind. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those he touched.

In lieu of flowers, those who so desire are asked to consider a donation in Larry’s memory to either the St. Johnsville American Legion or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Larry’s friends at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street in St. Johnsville, New York. This obituary can be viewed on the funeral home website at www.eneafamily.com on the Internet.
