MILLERS MILLS – Lawrence “Larry” W. Brunette, Sr., age 81, of Millers Mills Road, West Winfield (Town of Columbia), went peacefully, to join his wife, Claudia, on Monday, May 8, 2023.
He was born on October 16, 1941, in Ilion, the son of Lawrence J. and June (Ackler) Brunette and attended West Winfield School. He was a Veteran, serving in the U.S. Marines. On April 24, 1966, he was married to Claudia Roberts, in Hartwick, NY. She died on April 26, 2022. Larry was an assembler at Union Fork & Hoe Co., for over 30 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking and playing Yahtzee with his wife, Claudia.
Surviving family members include his children: Misty Duncan and her husband, Ken, of Ilion, Barb Brunette and her fiancé, Jason, of Troy, NY, Lawrence Brunette, Jr. and his wife, Amber, of Ilion and Bill Brunette and his wife, Victoria, of Ilion; 21 special grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren who he adored; his sisters, Ora Anne Gilbert and her husband, Edward, of Hannawa Falls, NY, and Linda Slobodian, of Waterville, NY; his brother, Robert Brunette and his wife, Koren, of Newland, NC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Claudia; his sister, Janet Bellstedt; and his grandson, Joshua.
Calling hours will be held 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger location, at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.), between Ilion and Frankfort. A Celebration of Life Prayer Service will be held immediately following calling hours, at 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
