NEWPORT – Laura Fiesinger, age 59, a longtime Newport resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 6, 2022, in the privacy and comfort of her home.
Born on June 1, 1962, in Syracuse, NY, Laura was the daughter of the late Edward H. and Emma (Pettit) Fiesinger.
She loved going on camping trips, spending all night awake under the stars and by the campfire. She also enjoyed fishing and bowling. She could often be found dancing and singing, especially to her all-time favorite, Billy Ray Cyrus.
Laura was a loving soul whose vibrancy was contagious to those around her. She would often approach strangers with a hug, telling others “there’s my friend” as she did so. Her spark and zest for life was inspirational to her family and friends and this is how she’ll be remembered.
She was predeceased by her older brothers, Edward, Robert & Charles. Surviving are her brothers, Donald (Janet) & Richard (Jean) and her sisters, Emma-Jane & Lois Ann (Fiesinger) Berry; sisters-in-law, Linda Shurtluff and Kirsten Fiesinger, and 13 nieces & nephews, plus 25 great-nieces & great-nephews.
She is also survived by her caregivers, Charlene and Charlie Marshall of Newport, along with their extended family who took Laura in with loving arms.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours for Laura which will take place on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000.
Laura’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Friday at 3:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, with Deacon James Bower, officiating. Spring interment will take place in Spruceton Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Spruceton Cemetery Association, 12 Sebring Round, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
