Kevin R. Brown

On Saturday, November 8th, 2025, Mr. Kevin R. Brown of Herkimer passed away unexpectedly at Wynn Hospital in Utica, New York.

Kevin was born on August 13th, 1961, in Utica, New York proudly to Richard and Joanne Brown (Mursch). After graduating high school, Kevin continued his education at MVCC, then onto William Penn University. This is where he found true loyalty and a lifelong brotherhood as he proudly joined the Sigma Phi Sigma fraternity. Kevin has held his brothers close through the years and took great pride in their friendships, especially with his brother, Joe Caloia.

Kevin worked many jobs, coached numerous sports teams, but found his work family at Excellus Blue Cross Blue Sheild. He devoted over 29 years to managing numerous facilities across the thruway & took immense pride in his career. He created deep bonds and ensured his peers could trust, rely and always count on him to show up every day.

Kevin married the love of his life, Alison Paige Kroe in Little Falls, NY & their love story was epic! Kevin loved and cherished his wife in a way no one else could, he did everything possible to create a life full of happiness, laughter and great peace with her. The two shared so many adventures together. Kevin loved the ocean, enjoyed his toes in the sand and the warmth of the sun on his face. He found immense solace and was truly at ease whenever they were together getting lost in the ocean, their magical place.

Kevin took great pride in the home they created and could be faithfully found every morning taking his beloved dog Luna May for her walk through the neighborhood. He was an avid golfer & loved his Tuesday league. The love, kindness and genuine care for people that he had is something that will never be forgotten by anyone who was given the fortunate opportunity to know him.

Kevin is preceded in death by his parents who he loved dearly, his father was his best man throughout his life, his wedding and beyond. His In laws Richard and Leila Kroe. He leaves behind his proud and devoted wife Alison Brown. Kevin was an amazing, generous bother and loved his younger sister Karen Brown very, very much. Kevin also leaves behind a lifetime of loved friends who were much like family to him. Once you were befriended by Kevin, you were a friend forever. He has three children.

Kevin will be remembered for his selflessness, amazing soul, proper bow tie and constant peace sign. The world will not be the same without him. In keeping with the true spirit of who he was, his final gift to this world was the gift of life. Kevin gave himself to the world so he may continue to spread his kindness even after his passing.

In keeping with his wishes, funeral services will be held privately.
