Kenneth R Brown

Herkimer: Kenneth R. Brown, 66, of N. Prospect Street, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014.



Kenneth was born on October 15, 1947 in Ilion, a son of the late Richard H. and Eleanor (Austin) Brown. He was a 1965 graduate of Ilion High School and in 1969, graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering. Upon graduation, Ken enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1971. During that time, he proudly and courageously served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, and Good Conduct Medal.



Ken was a lifelong area resident and was employed with the Orion Bus Company in Oriskany. He is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law: Rodney and Diane of Ilion, Timothy and Bertha, also of Ilion, and Gregory and Charlene of Albany, along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.



A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held in the spring at a time to be announced in Mountain View Cemetery, Little Falls. Kenneth will then be interred in the family plot.
