ILION - Kathryn M. Moss passed away peacefully, on September 2, 2023, in Little Falls, NY.
Kathryn (Kathy) was born on February 24, 1962, in Fitchburg, MA the middle daughter of the late Theordore Raux and Shirley Johnson. She loved being part of such a big family and had so much love for her siblings: Barbara Guy, Ruthie Mazarin, Jackie Petley, Brenda Hall, Ted Raux, Thomas Raux and Cherish Raux Goodman. She attended Reingold Elementary and then moved To Ilion NY. She went to Ilion High School, which is where she met her husband and built a life she was proud of.
She is predeceased by her parents, Shirley Johnson and Theodore Raux; her siblings, Michelle Kennedy and Raymond Raux; and her beloved father-in-law, Howard Moss.
Her passing comes after 43 years of marriage to her soulmate and best friend, Howard Moss, Jr., and they have proudly raised 5 children: Christina Rinehard, Charles Moss (Brittany Edwards), John Moss, Mary and Nick Sheppard and Christopher and Ashley Moss. She was a loving and dedicated Nana to Jacob, Keegan, Riley, Wesley, Janessa, Kristian, Ian, Brody, Tiffany, Taylor, Aiden, Amayah, Taner, Lucas and Sophia, Donte. She cultivated a unique and sweet bond with each and every one of them as well as so many other family and friends.
Kathryn was an amazing woman who found pure joy in her family, friends and faith. After raising 5 children she went back to school and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Human Services so she could keep making a difference. She found meaning in her work fighting for kids’ rights at Family Services. Kathy was a part of the Lighthouse Baptist Church where her faith brought her profound peace and comfort. She enjoyed working with the children on the bus ministry where she felt privileged to share her faith. She has touched so many people in our community and changed their lives for the better.
The family wanted to say a special thank you to Danielle Martello (Levi), Dale Treen, Lisa Bennett, Carrie and Douglas Blaise, Wayne and Debbie Johnson and Uncle Harold “Butch” Moss for their compassion and meaningful relationships during her life.
An additional thank you to the staff at Foltsbrook and Little Falls Inpatient and Emergency Room staff for their patience, caring and understanding of Kathy and her family during their most trying times.
Funeral services and interment will take place on Friday, September 8, 2023 and will consist of calling hours at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, NY, from 10:30 a.m. until 12 Noon, at which time a Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home chapel with procession to follow to Cedarville Cemetery.
