Mrs. Katharine L. Dinneen, age 101, of 66 Alexander Street, Little Falls, New York died on January 26, 2004 at Van Allen Nursing Home in Little Falls, New York. She was born on July 14, 1902 in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Chief of Police, James L. Long and Catherine (Guilfoyle) Long. She received her education at St. Mary's Academy and graduated in the class of 1920. As a Registered Nurse, she worked for many years at Little Falls Hospital and private homes in this city. On July 25, 1928, she was united in marriage to Edward Frank Dinneen of this city, at St. Mary's Church by the late reverend E.A. O'Connor. Mr. Dinneen died in August 1952. Katharine was a member of District #7 Nurses for many years. She was also a member of the Holy Family Parish Rosary Society, St. Mary's Alumni Association of Amsterdam, and the American Red Cross. She is survived by one daughter, Helen Daly and husband John of Little Falls; three sons, James of Hampton, New Hampshire, John of Little Falls, and David and wife Erin of Hamilton, New York. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Maureen D. Uerz of Mechanicsville, Virginia; J. Michael Daly of New Hartford, Patricia D. Bodin of Walpole, Massachustsets, Kathleen Daly of Schenectedy, Meghan Dinneen of Hoboken, New Jersey, Molly Dinneen of New York City, and Ryan Dinneen of Killington, Vermont; seven great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Ann P. Long; and one cousin. She was predeceased by two brothers, James G. Long and Stanley Long. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2004, at 10:15 a.m. from the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, New York and at 11:00 a.m. from the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of E. Main and John Street, Little Falls, New York where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Vail. Internment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Friends and relatives may call at the Enea Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 28 from 5-8 p.m. Members of the Holy Family Parish Rosary Society are asked to meet at the Enea Funeral Home on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. All contributions in Katherine's name may be made to the Holy Family Parish Memorial Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Katharin'es family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff and employee's of the Van Allen Nursing Home's North Side for the care and compassion shown to her these past years.
