Karen (Lincourt) Lowery

HERKIMER - Karen (Lincourt) Lowery, age 75, from Herkimer, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at home with her family at her side.

She was born on June 15, 1942, the daughter of the late Merton and Mildred Lincourt. Karen graduated from Herkimer High School with the Class of 1960. She was married to John M. Lowery on June 25, 1960. She was employed at Valley Health Services for 18 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, reading, and coloring.

Surviving family members include her children, John & Leanne Lowery, Janice & Felix Ray, Robert & Alice Lowery, Mary & Robert Basloe, Bill Lowery & Brittany Frances, Mindy & LT Schoonmaker, Patti & Kevin Sweet, and Karen & Kenny Johnson; her two sisters, Melissa Hubler and Jane Lampert; a special Aunt Gloria Bunce; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Karen was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1990; her sister, Mary; and two granddaughters, Jayd and Barbara Ann.

The family wishes to especially thank Maddy, Zach, and Brandy at VHS; Dr. Handy at LF Hospital; Dr. Aruchamy and Dr. Chinnasamy at Basset Hospital in Cooperstown; and Hospice and Palliative Care.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Little Falls Hospital and Hospice. In keeping with Karen’s wishes, there are no scheduled calling hours. The family will hold a private graveside service at their convenience.
