June Galler

ILION-HERKIMER - June S. Galler, 84, formerly of 108 E. Smith St., Herkimer, and W. North Street, Ilion, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2009. She was born on June 29, 1925 in Utica, N.Y., the daughter of Harry and Marjorie (Pittman) Sainsbury and attended Utica schools. On July 10, 1948, she was married to Henry F. Galler in Utica. He died on Nov. 19,1978. June was a member of St. Augustine?s Episcopal Church, Ilion and it?s Women?s Guild and member of the Herkimer Senior Citizens. Survivors include her two daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Rich Poppke of Ilion; and Karen and Floyd Guidi of Herkimer; 6 grandchildren, Joseph, Regina, Steven, Christina, Amanda and Kayla; 6 great-grandchildren, several nephews and one brother-in-law, George Gray of Utica. She was predeceased by her sister, Joyce Gray and her brother Harry Sainsbury. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2009 at Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 ACME ROAD, ILION, with Father George Greene officiating. Interment will be in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. Visitation will be on Friday, July 17 from noon - 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
