WEST WINFIELD – Mrs. June E. Bunce, age 82, a lifelong area resident, passed away on Wednesday morning, April 27, 2022, in the privacy and comfort of her home.
Born on January 16, 1940 in Herkimer, June was the daughter of the late Leo and Alice (Cioch) Walts. She was raised and educated locally, graduating from Mount Markham High School.
On November 26, 1960, June was wed to Richard Bunce and together they shared in a loving, devoted and blessed union of over sixty-one years.
June had a kind heart and spent her working years as a CNA at the former Mohawk Valley Nursing Home in Ilion. June was a member of the Cedarville Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She also was a lover of animals and devoted herself to the well-being of animals and worked in the rewarding field of wildlife rehabilitation. In her spare time she was an avid reader.
June is survived by her beloved husband, Richard; her daughter, Kelly Bunce; her brother, David Walts; her sister, Betty Coy; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister, Bonnie Ferguson; her brother, Jim Walts; and her infant daughter, Tracey Jean.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours for June on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 3:00PM – 5:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. June’s memorial service and Celebration of Life will commence at 5:00PM at the funeral home, immediately upon the conclusion of calling hours.
