HERKIMER - Julia V. Moehringer, 97, a long-time Herkimer resident, passed away at home, on October 6, 2024. After living most of her life in Herkimer, Julia moved to Baldwinsville, NY, in April of 2021, to be closer to her family.
Julia was born on May 28, 1927, in Herkimer, NY, the daughter of Domenico and Elisabetta (Massaro) Lidano and was educated in public schools, in Herkimer. Julie trained as a hair stylist early in her life, later worked at Derby Sportswear and after her children were grown, worked at the Herkimer Public Library.
On July 31, 1954, she was united in marriage with Charles Moehringer, at St. Anthony’s Church, in Herkimer. They shared a blessed union of 51 years that was characterized by their love, dedication and devotion to one another. After her marriage to Charles (Chuck), she became a communicant of St. Francis De Sales Church, which she attended up until her recent move to Baldwinsville.
Julia loved her family and embraced her role as a wife, mother, and homemaker. She took great pride in spending time with her family and was central to any family get together. Julia was a blessed companion to her loved ones and to her many friends. Her genuine personality and love for her family and friends will be remembered by everyone who knew her. she will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched.
Julie is survived by her loving sons and their spouses: Joseph Moehringer and his wife, Linda, of Baldwinsville, Michael Moehringer and his wife, Jean, of Baldwinsville, and Philip Moehringer and his wife, Brenda, of Gansevoort, NY; three cherished grandchildren, Brad Moehringer and his wife, Liz, Adam Moehringer and his wife, Abby and Cory Moehringer; and three beautiful great-grandchildren, Everett, Dorothy and Callum. Julia is also survived by her sister-in-law, Clara Lidano; her nephew, Thomas Lidano and his wife, Joanne; and her niece, Elizabeth Coppola and her husband, Joseph.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles (Chuck) Moehringer, in 2005; and her brother, Joseph Lidano, in 1986.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, and will consist of an invitation to family and friends to attend calling hours at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, in Herkimer, New York, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Catholic Funeral Prayer Service will begin at the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. and then Julia will be escorted to Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, where interment will take place in the family lot. A luncheon will follow.
Remembrances in honor of Julia may be made to a charity of your choice.
