Miss Julia "Judy" A. Rockey, 92, a lifelong resident of Herkimer, passed away peacefully, Thursday March 14, 2013, in Valley Health Services, Herkimer.



She was born on December 22, 1920, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late Anthony and Sadie (Sharpus) Rockey. Judy was a graduate of Herkimer High School.

Prior o her retirement will 1985, she was employed with Remington Arms, Ilion. Judy was a communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church, Herkimer. She enjoyed gourmet baking and was an avid reader. Her most favorable past time was personal shopping. Judy took great pride in her house keeping and gardening and always was the utmost congenial hostess.



She is survived by her nephews, Donald Balcum of Las Vegas, NV and John Coffey of Georgia; her niece, Kathleen Halpin of Florida; her very close and dear friends, Carolyn Goodhines and Dominick J. Frank , Both of Frankfort. She was predeceased by her sisters; Antoinette Woodruff, Stella Halpin, Veronica Coffey and Anna Rockey ; her long time friend, Julia Frank and several nieces, nephews and in-laws.



Judy's funeral mass will be held later this spring along with her interment in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. In keeping her wishes there will be no visitation.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the entire staffs at the Little Falls Hospital and Valley Health Services for all of their excellent and compassionate care they offered Judy.
