Joyce Plumley

ILION - Joyce D. Plumley, 75, of Midtown Apartments, Herkimer, formerly of Ilion, died on Monday, July 28, 2008. She was born on Jan. 10, 1933 in Tupper Lake, the daughter of Chester and Helen (Duso) Young and attended Annunciation School. At one time Joyce was married to David Heiland. She later married John Plumley on May 28, 1977 in Ilion. He died on Feb. 22, 1999. Joyce was employed as an assembler at MDS and Cogar Corp. Survivors include her son David R. Heiland of Watervliet, N.Y., her sister Theresa Young, her friend Trudy Schreck of Clinton, her brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Norma Young of Florida, several nieces, nephews, her sister-in-law Glynnes Heiland of Ilion and her close friend Lorraine Empie of Herkimer. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:30 to 1 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Annunciation.
