Joyce Brown

Joyce Marjorie Brown, 78, of Ilion passed away on Feb. 26, 2009 at St Elizabeth?s Hospital. She was born Jan 4, 1931 in Port Lyden, NY to the late Russell and Dorothy (Urk) La Quay. Joyce loved to needlepoint and met once a month her ladies birthday club. She is survived by her daughter Karen Barker and husband Terrence; a niece ?special daughter? Paula Dzimitrowicz of Ilion; five grandchildren: Gillie Brown IV of Glens Falls, NY, Teddy Brown of Florida, Annamae Ayla of CA, Sarah Brown of North Dakota and Jessica Brown of Utica; six great grandchildren; Joyce's companion: Stan Grier and his daughter: Marge; several nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her sons Gilbert III, Gregory, Gerald and Bryan Brown. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Monday March 2, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, between Frankfort and Ilion, 894-8000 with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be later in the spring in Oak View Cemetery, Frankfort.
