Joseph Simonette

Mr. Joseph M. Simonette, 71, formerly of 43 E. North St., Ilion and most recently of Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, entered into eternal sleep peacefully on Sunday morning, July 6, 2008 in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. He was born in Frankfort on September 9, 1936, son of the late Joseph and Cora (Conte) Simonette and educated in Frankfort and Utica schools. He graduated from Proctor High School. In 1954, he enlisted into the military with the United States Air Force.He was honorably discharged on September 16, 1970, after fourteen years of honorable service to our country. Joseph was last employed with Griffiss Air Force Base, Rome retiring after twenty years of loyal service as administrative supervisor. He was of the Catholic faith and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include a son, Michael, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. There are no public calling hours or formal funeral service. The family will gather privately to say goodbye and he will be laid to rest with his parents in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort.
