Ilion: Joseph A. Coveleski, 76, of Ilion, passed away peacefully, May 11, 2012, with his loving family by his side at his home.



Joe was born October 1, 1935, in Hudson Falls, the son of the late Stanley and Helen (Nellie) Pennucci Coveleski Sr. He was a graduate of Mohawk Highs School. On April 16, 1955, Joe married the former Dolores Bouck in St. Joseph's Church in Herkimer.



Joe started his career at Fermer Tool and Die, Ilion and then to General Electric, Utica and West Lake Tool, Canastota. He retired from Remington Arms, Ilion. After retiring, Joe enjoyed camping and visiting the casinos.

Joe is surviving by his loving wife, Dolores; his children, Kathryn and Sherman Brown of Ilion, Steven Coveleski and his fiance´e Jan Pence of Mohawk and John Coveleski of Ilion; his daughter-in-law, Marla Coveleski; his grandchildren, Nathan and Tanese Brown of Ilion, Angela and Chris Miazga of Remsen, and Steven Coveleski and Chris Coveleski, both of Utica; his great grandchildren, Quincy, Cyrus and Isaiah Brown; his special sister, Patricia and Larry Boepple of Newville; his sister-in-law, Santa Rose Coveleski of Mohawk and several nieces, nephews and family in Glen Falls. He was predeceased by his daughter, Christine and his brother, Stanley Coveleski.



In keeping Joe's wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral service and cremation will occur. A memorial service will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family. Contributions, in Joe's memory may be offered to Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. or Central Association for the Blind.

The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care for all their loving and compassionate care and the Ilion Fire Department for all their assistance.
