FRANKFORT – Mr. Joseph A. Cacciatore, age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, November 12, 2024, at Wynn Hospital in Utica. At the time of his passing, he had the love and support of his family at his side.
Born on March 1, 1944, Joseph was the son of the late James and Rose (Caiola) Cacciatore. He was raised and educated in Frankfort and graduated from Frankfort High School. Upon completion of his education, Joe enlisted with the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era.
At one time Joe shared a marriage with the former Barbara Enea, a relationship from which came his three sons. He spent his working years as a car salesman, primarily for Len Brown Chevrolet in Herkimer.
Joe was a creature of habit and could often be found at OTB, the casino or at one of the local watering holes, betting the horses and socializing with friends; he lived his life on his own terms. Outside of this hard exterior though, was a very kind and affectionate man who loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His presence will truly be missed.
He is survived by his three sons, Joseph Cacciatore and Genny Schrader of Ilion, Shaun and Jennifer Cacciatore of Ilion and Jason and Brandy Cacciatore of Mohawk; his grandchildren, Francesca and Armin Sisic of Ilion, Sontino Cacciatore of Mohawk, Bianca Cacciatore of Mohawk, Christian Cacciatore of Ilion, Adrian and Frank Alesandro of Utica, Nicholas Cacciatore of Herkimer, Hunter Cacciatore, Tyler Cacciatore and Ryder Cacciatore, all of Mohawk; and his great-grandchildren, Ahvionna, Azaria, D’Angelo and Max. He also leaves his brother, James Cacciatore of Frankfort, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and extended family.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service for Joe on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 11:30AM at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort. Following internment, a Celebration of Joe’s Life will take place at 12:30PM at Cacciatore’s Restaurant, 302 Barringer Road, Ilion.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000, Enea, Ciaccia and Applegate Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at
