Jon David Loiacano, age 82, of Deerfield, formerly of Frankfort, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, at the Abraham House in Rome, where he was surrounded by the love and devotion of his family.

Jon was born on November 23, 1943, the son of the late George and Martha (Clayton) Loiacano. He graduated from Frankfort High School and received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Oneonta State.  Early in his career, Jon taught in Dolgeville and Ilion. He supervised student teachers for Oneonta State and then served as Principal of Reese Road Elementary School in Frankfort for 20 years; retiring in 1998.

On November 21, 1970, Jon married the former Cindy Reina at St. Mary's Church in Frankfort, a blessed union of over 55 years. Jon is survived by his wife, Cindy; his devoted son and 'daughter", Michael and Adrienne Loiacano; his loving granddaughters, Reina, Alexa and Michaela; his in -laws, Fran and Diane Reina, Rick and Crystal Reina and Nancy Reina; along with many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were such a wonderful support system during this difficult time. He is also survived by his sister, JoAnn Cucci, of Deerfield.

Jon was pre-deceased by his parents; his in-laws, Angelo and Frances Reina; and several relatives and friends.

A special thank you is extended to the doctors and nurses at Wynn Hospital and the caregivers and staff of the Abraham House for the overwhelming care and support shown to the Loiacano family through these last few weeks of Jon's life journey. The kindness, compassion and love they gave to Jon will never be forgotten. 

Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation for Jon on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 5:00PM - 7:00PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000. His funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday morning, June 30, 2026, at 10:30AM at St. Paul's Church, 16 Park Avenue, Whitesboro, NY, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Procession will follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frankfort where Jon's earthly remains will be laid to rest. 

The family would appreciate memorial contributions in Jon's memory to the Abraham House, 147 North Washington Street, Rome, NY 13440. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
