Johnathon Douglas O'Connor

February 11, 2000 — March 27, 2025

ILION – Johnathon Douglas O’Connor, born February 11, 2000, to Victoria O’Connor-Sangster, passed peacefully on March 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Johnathon’s life-long battle with his disease limited his world to remote and internet relationships, resulting in his closest friends being people he had never met face to face, yet shared strong bonds with.

He was a Dungeons and Dragons Master, whose grasp of fantasy allowed his strategic instincts to become infused in his creative game play. At a very early age, he became a voracious reader, focused on the classics and, later, as a young adult, science fiction and fantasy genres. As a lover of the most obscure trivia and little-known facts, Johnathan would love to share his latest discovery with anyone within listening range, often leaving his elders amazed.

Johnathon loved his family, caring for them with his big heart, and his love of children allowed him to have special relationships with his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his mom, Victoria O’Connor-Sangster (Jason), his maternal grandmothers, Kathleen Furneaux and Paula Killian, sisters, Alexis Courbron (Russell), Brianna O’Connor and her significant other, Daniel Jewett, Katie Lewis (Jeremy), Makayla Young (Hayden), Summer O’Connor and Avalon O’Connor, one brother, James Finnie, along with several loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

It was Johnathon’s wish that there be no services. Donations in his memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY, 1100 East Genesee Street, Syracuse, NY 13210 or by visiting General Donation Form | RMHC of CNY.

Johnathon’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea, Ciaccia & Applegate Funeral Directors. Online notes of sympathy may be left at www.eneafamily.com .
