Mr. John ?Jack? Douglas Savage, 67, of 160 Bono Blvd. Bono Trailer Park, East Schuyler, died Friday evening September 14, 2007 at his residence of natural causes. He was born in Mohawk, New York on April 27, 1940 the son of Douglas R. and Catherine E. (Mead) Savage and was educated in Mohawk schools. A veteran of the United States Navy he was honorably discharged after serving from 1959 until 1963. A machinist by trade he was employed by the EJ Willis Company of Middleville for 28 years and then by the C & C Machinery Company of Russellville, Arkansas until his retirement. His marriage to the former Jane Ortlieb ? Short took place on December 14, 1991 in Dolgeville. Jack was a member of the Dolgeville Fire Department, along with a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church of Herkimer, and he personally enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting and especially traveling with his wife Jane in their RV throughout the United States. He is survived by his devoted wife Jane, his children John and his wife Karen Savage of Floyd, NY, Daniel Savage of New York Mills, his daughter Cindy Nichols of New York Mills, his Brothers William Savage of Little Falls, David Raymonda and Frederick Raymonda both of Herkimer, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, his extended family: Darlene E. Miller with whom he lived, Charlene Brinski of Durham, NC, Andrea Tobin of North Pownal, Vt., Melanie Sweet of Arizona, Bradley Short of Arkansas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 18, 2007 at 12 o'clock noon from the Roberts & Enea Family Funeral Home, 3 Faville Avenue, Dolgeville. The Rev. Joseph R. Jansen, pastor of the New Life Pentecostal Church of Herkimer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dolgeville Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11 AM until the time of the services at noon. Memorials in Jack?s name may be made to the New Life Pentecostal Church 337 Protection Avenue Herkimer, NY 13350.
