Mr. John H. Hanretty, 76, of 204 Mann St., Frankfort, passed away Friday morning, May 30, 2003, at St. Luke's-Memorial Hospital, New Hartford. He was born Oct. 15, 1926, in Frankfort, the son of the late John H. and Hannah (Mahoney) Hanretty Sr. He was educated in Utica schools. John was a lifelong resident of our area. John had worked for many years as a linen room attendant with the Masonic Home in Utica. John is survived by his loving and caring caregiver, Miss Diane L. Lazore of Frankfort; his twin brother, Bernard Hanretty and wife Aurie of New Hartford; and a brother, Francis Hanretty of Forestport; three sisters, Ellen White and husband Floyd of New Hartford, Anne O'Connor and husband Francis T. of Ilion and Elizabeth Senter and husband Carl of Albany; a sister-in-law, Rose Mary Hanretty of Utica; a special friend, Evelyn Heinig of Frankfort; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two brothers, James and William Hanretty. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, at 12:15 p.m. from the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Frankfort and Ilion and at 1 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort St., Frankfort where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John Yanas, pastor. Interment will take place in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Sunday evening from 5-8 p.m. The family extends its gratitude to St. Luke's Healthcare, especially mentioning the first floor nursing staff and doctors Daniel Uwah and Matthew Ulahannan for the compassion offered.
