John P. Bernier Jr.

HERKIMER – John Patrick Bernier, Jr., age 26, a longtime resident of Herkimer, passed away with his loving family at his side on December 18th, 2024, at Wynn Hospital, Utica.

He was born on May 30, 1998, in Asheboro, North Carolina, a son of Eve (Bersani) and the late John P. Bernier, Sr. John lived his life with boundless energy and an infectious smile. He was always there to help his many close friends, whenever and however they needed. His helpful nature continued beyond his life on earth as he went on to save six other lives through organ donation. He had worked for some time with Dominos in Herkimer.

He is survived by his mother Eve Bernier, two brothers, Zachary and Jacob, Sr., and his sister, Megan. John is also survived by his daughters Riley, her mother, Bethany Masi, and Tylianna, her mother, John’s longtime companion Felicia Jiminez, a niece, Leah and nephew Jacob, Jr. his grandma, Angelina Fergone, his uncle, Dominick Bersani and an aunt, Christine Schultz.

John was predeceased by his father, John, Sr., his paternal grandparents, Gary & Helen Bernier, his maternal grandfather John Brzyszcz and his uncle John Bersani.

Funeral service will be held in the form of calling hours on Monday, December 23rd, 2024, from 11AM until 12Noon at The Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road in Ilion, New York and his final burial to take place in the Spring, 2025 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Herkimer, New York.
