MOHAWK – Joan A. Schorer, age 93, of Marshall Ave., Mohawk, passed away peacefully, at home, on Sunday, July 17, 2022, with her family by her side.
She was born on April 30, 1929, in Herkimer, the daughter of John and Ruth Tinkler and graduated from Herkimer High School. Joan was married to Ronald “Ron” W. Schorer for 57 years. She was a secretary for several attorneys, including Thomas Morris, of Ilion. Joan enjoyed knitting, ceramics and needle point.
Surviving family members include her husband, Ronald “Ron”; her grandchildren: Heather Lerch, of Syracuse, Jordan Sochia and her husband, Eric, of Holland Patent, Savannah, of Rome and Andrew Reynolds, of Rome; her great-grandchildren: Adriana Lerch and her wife, Erica, of Mohawk, Dakota Lerch, of FL, Autumn Lerch, of Syracuse, Rickie Lerch III, of Syracuse, Serinna, Myah and Summer Sochia, all of Holland Patent; her step daughter, Donna Papaleo and her husband, James, of Ilion; her step son, Clifford Schorer and his wife, Linda, of Norfolk, VA; her step granddaughter, Jennifer Papaleo, of Ilion; and several other step grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sons: Duane and James Loce; grandson, Jeff DePasquale; stepdaughters, Georgianne Nabor and Chris Trumbauer; stepson, Ronald Schorer, Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend Joan’s Celebration of Life and Graveside Committal Service, at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Mt. View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1189 Shells Bush Rd., Town of Little Falls, NY 13365, with Funeral Director and Celebrant, Don Applegate, officiating.
