MOHAWK – Mrs. Joan Marie Raux, age 81, a longtime area resident, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in Utica, New York, with her loving family always by her side.
Born February 8, 1941, in North Rose, NY, she was a daughter to the late Ken and Margaret (Bohling) Case and lived a large part of her life in Manion Heights, (Mohawk), NY. She was united in marriage to Harry Raux and he previously passed away.
She worked at Remington Arms, having retired from there. Later she enjoyed working at the Turning Stone Casino, as a team member employee cashier.
She is survived by her children, Dale Hays and her husband, Dennes and Ronald Raux and his wife, Nelia; her grandchildren, Joshua (Brittany) and Dakota Hays, Mikel (Darlene) Hays and Nicole and Kevin Woods; great-grandchildren, Devin, Rayland, Hannah, Cole, Callie, Savannah and Nicholas; great-great granddaughter, Sidney; and several nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, in Ilion, New York, on Monday, September 5, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Her Funeral Prayer will be celebrated thereafter at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, New York, on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., graveside.
