Jessie Ruth Sterling

Ms. Jessie R. Sterling, age 88, of Utica, passed away Friday, June 24, 2026, at Wynn Hospital in Utica.

Jessie was born in Utica, NY on February 12, 1938, to the late Daniel and Lena Sterling (Parsons). She graduated from West Winfield Highschool and then went on to obtain an associate's degree at the MVCC Utica School of Nursing. Jessie spent 45 years as an LPN in various medical settings. Before retiring, she provided personal care to those in need through U.S. Care Systems. Jessie was also a proud member of the Herkimer, Onieda, Schuyler, and New York State Women's Fire Department Auxiliary.

Jessie was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her son, Scott Sterling, her daughter, Rhonda Falitico (Lucien), her siblings; Frank Sterling, Ed Sterling (Liz), Kevin Sterling and Ronnie Sterling (Phoebe), Bonnie Fletcher (John) and in-laws, Barbara Sterling and Liz Sterling. She leaves her beloved grandchildren; Kalenna Falitico, Vincent Falitico and Jospeh K. Sterling, as well as her great-grandchildren; Brianna Wheeler, Zachery Wheeler and Landon Wheeler. 

She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, Leroy Sterling and Bill Sterling. 

In keeping with her wishes, a graveside committal service for Jessie will be held at the West Schuyler Cemetery at a date and time to be announced, where she will be laid to rest with her family.
