Jeanne M. Munger

January 20, 1945 — May 10, 2025

LITTLE FALLS - Jeanne M. Munger, 80, of East Monroe Street, Little Falls, New York, passed away Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on January 20th, 1945, in Ilion, NY, the daughter of the late John McCarthy and Priscilla (Beauchamp) McCarthy. She was educated at St. Mary’s Academy in Little Falls. On September 29th, 1962, she was united in marriage to her loving husband of 51 years, the late Alfred (Skip) Munger at St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls. She was first and foremost a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend – always putting everyone first. Skip passed away on May 4th, 2014.

Affectionately known to many as “Mema”, she was the heart of her family. A loving grandmother whose warmth, laughter, and unwavering support touched everyone around her. Her passion for her family was matched only by her love of basketball - whether she was cheering on her beloved Golden State Warriors or sitting courtside with her husband Skip to watch the Little Falls Mounties play with pride shining in her eyes. Nothing brought her more joy than seeing her daughter coach and her grandkids on the court, where she was their biggest and loudest fan. Mema’s legacy lives on in every game played, every cheer shouted, and every hug shared after the final buzzer.

Beyond the court, Jeanne found joy in the simple things in life. An ice cream sundae with extra hot fudge, watching her bird feeders, a “quick spin” around town or a quiet day spent with her family is what truly made her happy. She had a love for music that filled her home and heart, often singing along to her favorite tunes or tapping her fingers to the rhythm of a familiar song. Her furry companions were never far from her side, offering comfort and unconditional love. She also enjoyed multiple trips to the Cape with her husband and son, as well as many memorable years spent with her family at their camp at Half Moon Beach on Piseco Lake.

She is survived by her cherished children; Pam Munger, Lori Becker and her husband Edward, Steven Munger and his fiancé Victoria Santopadre and her boys, Nathan and Alex Liscio, all of Little Falls, NY; her sister; Peggy (McCarthy) Andrilla and her husband Alan and her brother; Tom McCarthy; adored grandchildren; Jaime, Jenna and her fiancé Tim Hester, and Hannah Becker and her precious great granddaughter; Allie Jean Becker and several special nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind in-laws; Sandra Munger, Little Falls, NY, Patricia and Daniel Foshee, Holly Lake Ranch, TX and Linda and Greg Maida, Herkimer, NY.

She was predeceased by her husband; Alfred (Skip) Munger, her parents; John and Priscilla (Beauchamp) McCarthy, her brother, Jack and Linda (Schiell) McCarthy and her in-laws, Alfred and Lois (Smith) Munger, Richard Munger, James Munger, and niece, Donna (Foshee) Pruett.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls on Friday, May 16th, 2025, from 9:00-10:30 am.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16th, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. of Main and John Streets, Little Falls where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will then take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer.
