ILION – Jeanine M. Jacquays, age 74, a longtime resident of Ilion, New York, passed away, Monday morning, June 2nd, 2025, at Wynn Hospital, Utica, after a brief illness with her loving family and friends always by her side.
She was born January 31st, 1951, in Herkimer, New York, a daughter of the late Nelson and Virginia (Geer) Jacquays and attended Mohawk schools graduating with the class of 1969. She was employed with Duofold in Ilion – Mohawk, and lastly with Foltsbrook Center, Herkimer, as a certified nursing assistant.
Jeanine loved attending Frankfort Morning Star United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cross stitching, and she loved to do arts and crafts with the kids and music and picnics with family and friends. In her younger years, she spent a lot of time camping and travelling, and especially was fond of Red Dragon in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was fondly known as “Baby Nin,” and will forever be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure to know her.
She is survived by her beloved family, her sisters Eleanor Parslow and Georgiann Jacquays of Mohawk, her many special nieces and nephews, especially mentioning that she was a special mom to her sisters’ kids, Jason Winter of Utica, Kathleen Winter-Chapman of West Monroe, New York, and Eric Winter of Denver, Colorado, as well as family Geraldine and Anthony Rodriguez, Jason Winter, Jr. and Amanda, and, Logan Winter, Stella, Silas, Sawyer & Solomon Rodriguez.
Jeanine and the family have been blessed with dear friends, Joyce Ray of Ilion and her daughters, Donna Ray and Beth Colburn and their family and friends Chris Trumbaur, Gary Burke, Nicole Kneedham, and Kim Driscoll.
She was predeceased by siblings Geraldine Winter, Roger Jacquays, Robert Jacquays, Thomas Jacquays, Angelo "Tiny" Jacquays and David Jacquays.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 14th, 2025, at 10:00 AM from Frankfort Morning Star United Methodist Church, 4224 Acme Road, Frankfort, New York, with Rev. Joelle Faulks, Pastor, officiating. The internment will then take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest. Although there are no calling hours, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service and the interment service to follow. A luncheon will be held at the church to conclude the day.
