Jean Reed

Mrs. Jean M. Reed, age 79, of 99 Sixth Ave., Ilion passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at that residence. She was born on December 18, 1923 in Piercefield, NY a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Agnes (Paquette) Laventure. She received her education in the Malone, NY school district. Jean married John Reed in Watertown, NY. He passed away in 1959. She was at one time employed with the former Herkimer Hospital and the Empire Diner. Jean is survived by three daughters, Mary Lafountain and husband Sherwood of Cedarville, Carol Crim of Herkimer and Donna Reed of Ilion, four brothers, Frank Laventure and wife Jean of Ilion, Danny Laventure of Herkimer, Ronald Laventure of Syracuse and Darrell Laventure of Utica, one sister, Kate Agnow of Utica, three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Bruce, Robert, Carl, Leroy Laventure. Visitation at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2003 from 5-7 p.m. Jean's funeral will commence at 11 am on Wednesday morning, June 25, 2003 from the chapel of the funeral home. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest. Jean's wishes were pre-arranged with the Enea Funeral Home, Little Falls.
