Jean Maida

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Jean Maida, 87, of 17 North Division Street , in St. Johnsville, passed away in the comfort of her home on Tuesday morning, April 9, 2019. She shared her beautiful home with her loving husband, Gene Boniberger.

She was born on August 31, 1931, in Bronx , New York , a daughter of the late Silverio and Helen (Coppa) Guarino. She was raised and educated there. She owned and operated Baskin – Robbins Ice Cream, in Riverdale NY for many years. Jean lived in the St. Johnsville area with her husband Gene and they were married in 2016 at Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, in Little Falls. She attended the St. Johnsville Church and felt warmed and welcome there. She enjoyed a special passion for volunteer work, especially with helping friends and neighbors in our community and volunteering her specialness to the Margaret Reaney Memorial Library, in St. Johnsville. She was so dear to all of us and her sudden passing has brought us all together with love and support. We will miss her dearly.

Survivors include beloved husband, Gene, of St. Johnsville and his loving family; her three cherished daughters, Debra (Charles), Marie (John) and Paula (Joe); one sister, Civita Guarino, in Italy ; her grandchildren, Robert and wife, Inna, Paul, Jessica, Christopher and Michelle; two great- grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Frank Maida, Jr.; and her grandson, Matthew Conticelli.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at 4:00 PM, from The Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street , in St. Johnsville , New York , with Father Rafal Dadello, officiating. Family and friends alike are invited to arrive at the funeral home and attend the services at 4PM. A mercy meal will follow at Lombardo’s, St. Johnsville. Interment will take place at Ferncliff Cemetery , Ardsley , NY .
